Guild Wars 2 : World vs World PvP Detailed

The Guild Wars 2 blog has been updated with a post by Mike Ferguson that lays out how the world vs world PvP will look in Guild Wars 2 and should get people REALLY excited!

Think siege engines, capture points, resource control, castle keeps and persistent two week events and you start to see an emerging picture of how this innovative system will work.

The WvW system will pit three worlds of hundreds of players each against one another on maps of massive scale.

We dreamed of a game where players could work together to capture objectives on the battlefield, like keeps and towers, claiming them for their guilds, then upgrading fortifications before defending them against hordes of attackers.
 
Players will not only be taking on each other in these massive-scale battles but will also have to take on guards, bosses and more in an effort to gain control of the keeps and towers.

Players will be able to construct machines to help them capture strategic points and to lay siege to their enemies.
 
As the battles last up to two weeks, teams will be able to upgrade their keeps by making more powerful NPC guards, walls and more.
